Boo-tiful Costumes

By Sophie Ashley

Halloween is just around the corner, and it is the perfect time to be original and dress up in a fun costume. There are many options from scary zombies to characters from your favorite movie or television show, whether it’s with a group of friends or by yourself.

Option 1: dress up with a group of your friends!

Dress up as characters from classic movies, such as Clueless, and get with your best friend to dress up as the dynamic duo, Cher and Dionne. You could also dress up as the heroic and legendary characters from our childhood like Toy Story, Cars, Monsters Inc., or Grease. You could also get  together with a group of your friends and dress up as Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Little Bo-Peep, Rex, and more. Dressing up as characters from Grease is also a great idea because it can include as many people as desired; people can dress up as Pink Ladies or Greasers.

Option 2: dress up relating to current popular culture!

Some ideas that could be interesting to create could be popular singers such as Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, or Post Malone. You could also dress up as the main characters from popular television shows: for example, Riverdale, Stranger Things, and Game of Thrones are all popular at the moment. Recently, there has been a viral trend where people dress up as “VSCO girls,” and you can give your friends a laugh by wearing a gigantic T-shirt decorated with a hydro flask symbol with your friends. The Area 51 raid has been blowing up across all social media platforms,  so you could be creative and dress up as an Area 51 alien.

Option 3: step outside the box and choose an inanimate object!

You can be creative and dress up as a Snapchat filter like the reindeer, an Instagram filter or your favorite food. In 8th grade, my friends and I dressed up as different foods including a slice of pizza, a hot dog, and more.

Time is running out to find a costume, so use some of these ideas or even show everyone your creativity.
